The World's Most Humane Prison in Norway

- It took 10 years and $252 million to built the world's most humane prison Halden Fengsel with a capacity of 252 inmate.
- It is spread over 75 acres (30 hectares) of gently sloping forest in southeastern Norway.
- Harald V, King of Norway, joined the opening celebration on April 8.
- Each cell has a LCD TV and a shower.
- The prison has its own recording studio, medical center and hundreds of paintings on the wall, that cost more than $1 million.
- People say that life in prison is tough. But not in this one.
