How to check loading time of your website?

Everyone knows how annoying it is if a website takes forever to load. There are recent researches, in fact, confirming that 75% of the Internet users do not return to sites that take longer than 4 seconds to load.It is very important for every webmaster to have a good idea of his or her website’s loading time. But now the question is how to check the website’s loading time?

Free Tools to check website loading time:

1. iWebTool Speed Test: It allows you to enter up to 10 websites, and the results display the size of the website, the total loading time and the average speed per KB.

2. Pingdom Tools : It provides the full page load test. The Full Page Test loads a complete HTML page including all objects (images, CSS, JavaScripts, RSS, Flash and frames/iframes). It mimics the way a page is loaded in a web browser.

3. WebPageTest : On this site, you can run a free website speed test from multiple locations around the globe using real browsers (IE and Chrome) and at real consumer connection speeds.

4. Site-Perf.com : With Site-Perf.com, you get an accurate, realistic, and helpful estimation of your site’s loading speed. The script fully emulates natural browser behavior downloading your page with all the images, CSS, JS and other files – just like a regular user.

5. Searchmetrics Website speed check : This tool calculates how long a website take to load and if it is better to optimize the website or change a (slow) ISP.

By the way I would suggest keeping your load time below 2 seconds. In the near future I will post an article with tips to make your pages load faster.
