Amazon has released a new commercial ad for the $79 Kindle highlighting the difficulty when using the iPad in direct sunlight. The other point that Amazon is trying to highlight in the video is that Kindle is more value for money - Consumers can afford to buy two Kindle Fire tablets and a standard Kindle e-reader for the price of just one Apple iPad.
 
 
Here’s the original Kindle ad that Amazon released about an year ago. It uses the same setting – a girl sunbathing near the pool and reading on her Kindle – and they have even hired the same actress – Anna Zielinski – to do the sequel.

Priced at $199, the Fire is undoubtedly a promising device, but whether consumers believe it is actually better than the iPad is another matter. We’ve compared the two tablet devices and appreciate the Kindle Fire delivers an incredible amount of content for the price. The iPad is good for flipping through PDFs or for watching multimedia content but Kindle is much better for reading text whether you are indoors or outside in direct sunlight. But Kindle is still a long way from being the finished product, especially when compared to the iPad.
